  • Styled Three Ways: An Easy Summer Tunic

You know that one piece of clothing that you just can't seem to take off--it's so easy, polished and versatile that you can wear it just about anywhere?  Over a long weekend at the beach, we kept reaching for one of our favorite summer tunics, and paired it with white jeans and a belt at the waist for sunset cocktails, cut off denim shorts and flip flops for a bike ride around town, and popped it on over a bathing suit for a day at the beach.  At the end of the long-weekend away, we realized that this dynamic tunic was really the only thing we needed to pack...we'll remember that for our next August getaway.

  • Intern Style

Dressing for class in April and an internship in June can make for a tricky wardrobe transition. This shift can be particularly tough for those working in a startup environment--how does a summer intern walk the fine line between looking both creative and professional? We decided to feature our interns, Caroline and Mollie, who have managed to look polished and cool every day on the job.

On this hot afternoon in Georgetown, the girls styled a few outfits that were perfectly suited for a summer day at work.  First, they dressed up their tailored shorts with airy blouses, and added accessories to achieve a sophisticated yet understated professional look.  Then, Mollie tucked a Bella Dahl chambray shirt into white jeans, which she then paired with red smoking slippers, a Raina belt, and an arm-full of bangles.  Caroline added a gold belt to a cobalt blue dress before popping on a Two Penny Blue blazer and gold flats. With a few great accessories to accent a sophisticated base, these two looked comfortable, confident, and ready to work.

  • St. Thomas Sunshine

Emmy, Fianna, and Madeleine (aka “Moey”) are all lucky enough to live on St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands.  Emmy, older sister to Tuckernuck team member Sophie, and Fianna were both born and raised on the sunny Caribbean isle, while Moey recently moved there.

Once home to pirates, the island was eventually settled by Dutch Colonists in the 1600's.  Today, the capital city's colorful streets and colonial architecture attract locals and tourists alike.  These three met during their lunch hour in the heart of town, each one dressed in brightly colored, breezy Tuckernuck items.  Their creative, casual work environments allow these ladies to layer colorful accessories with bright shorts and dresses for their days in the office.   Emmy says of her shorts, "they have a great texture, and the fabric is a high-quality thickness, so they really resist wrinkles! The neon pink color is so pretty with aqua- my favorite summer color combo, of course!" Living among such colorful buildings, ample sunshine, and turquoise waters inspires the people of St. Thomas to dress with lighthearted simplicity all year round...we told you they were lucky.

  • California Cool: Seaton Blouse

Tukernuck's talented photographer, Molly, ventured out to Napa last weekend with some of her good friends.  A great photographer on a weekend trip with her beautiful friends, a gorgeous back drop, and of course, some Tuckernuck style makes for some awesome photos. Her friend Brooke wore the Seaton Peasant Blouse with some blue cutoffs. The Connecticut native who now works in consulting in Boston totally pulls of the California cool look. The other blonde Emma loved it so much, she snagged the blouse the next day and wore it with our Gretchen Scott Pareo as a skirt!
