  • Desk to Drinks: The Skater Dress in Boston

Meet Jessye, Creative Director by day, blogger for her site, City Tonic, by night.  Jessye's schedule requires her to look professional yet casual for work, and prepared to explore Boston after hours for her blog.  We caught up with Jessye on our last trip up north, where she styled our Amanda Uprichard Skater Dress for daytime, then drinks.  First, Jessye popped on a silk button-down and a tweed jacket to dress down her look while playing up the dress's flared skirt.  She then added heels, a clutch, and a leather jacket for a more dressed up, nighttime look.  Jessye's two ensembles were not only perfect for work and play, but also reminded us that a jewel-toned dress in a pretty silhouette can be a refreshing and equally as versatile alternative to your go-to little black dress.

  • Indian Summer at the District Flea

Brought to Washington by New York's famed Brooklyn Flea, the District Flea is making its debut in DC for a trial run in the city's up-and-coming Shaw neighborhood. On one of the hottest days this fall, a group of friends perused DC's finest consignment, antique, and vintage goods in style...
Isabelle, in town visiting Sophie, our Creative Director, is no stranger to market finds. She gets her great eye for finding diamonds in the rough from her mom who has Princeton's most exciting consignment store, Jane. It's no wonder her vintage accessories (yes, that vintage Chanel bag) are pretty awesome. After traveling from Hong Kong to London to Nairobi working in investment banking and retail consulting, Isabelle has finally landed back in New York City where she works for a retail investment fund. She walked away from the market with a gorgeous bronze folding peacock fire screen for her new Manhattan digs.
Corey, close friend of Tuckernuck and always in the know about the freshest activities to try out in DC, was on the hunt for some accents for her Georgetown apartment. Don't let her gorgeous maxi dress fool you. Corey did some heaving lifting and walked away with some gorgeous vintage trunks (a perfect TV stand!)
Grace recently moved to DC where she works for an organization that promotes and facilitates democracies abroad. While Grace loves to travel and last called Cameroon her home, she usually stays true to her classic, new england roots when it comes to her style. We love how she paired her striped dress with a vintage-feeling statement necklace.
Laura, visiting from Alabama, is a lab technician at Dauphin Island Sea Lab. She usually spends her time between collecting samples in the Gulf of Mexico and cataloging her findings in the lab, so she likes to look put together whenever she gets the opportunity to put on something other than a lab coat or fishing jump suit. She managed to make her blue skater dress look daytime causal by throwing on a chambray shirt beneath it.

  • Intern Style

Dressing for class in April and an internship in June can make for a tricky wardrobe transition. This shift can be particularly tough for those working in a startup environment--how does a summer intern walk the fine line between looking both creative and professional? We decided to feature our interns, Caroline and Mollie, who have managed to look polished and cool every day on the job.

On this hot afternoon in Georgetown, the girls styled a few outfits that were perfectly suited for a summer day at work.  First, they dressed up their tailored shorts with airy blouses, and added accessories to achieve a sophisticated yet understated professional look.  Then, Mollie tucked a Bella Dahl chambray shirt into white jeans, which she then paired with red smoking slippers, a Raina belt, and an arm-full of bangles.  Caroline added a gold belt to a cobalt blue dress before popping on a Two Penny Blue blazer and gold flats. With a few great accessories to accent a sophisticated base, these two looked comfortable, confident, and ready to work.

  • Basics as a Canvas for Chic Accessories

Meet Viviana, New York City based fashion blogger for her site, Fashion Truffles.  We met up with Viviana in the West Village this week, where she accessorized Tuckernuck basics with items from our spring collection.  Viviana accented our White and Warren cardigan with a Lele Sadoughi Nile necklace, Bhati Beats bracelets, an Annabel Ingall cross body bag, her Asha Zodiac ring, a Vismaya scarf, and a pair of statement heels.  Viviana likes using basics as a canvas for chic accessories, and we were thrilled to see the way she did so with some of our favorite new pieces.

  • Hide and Sleek with Cassie and Justin

Our friends Cassie and Justin, both Boston dwellers, rarely have to dress in traditional office attire. Cassie, once a suited investment banker in NYC, recently started her own educational software company. Justin, in product design, works in an artistic and casual environment. However, both have occasions and meetings for which they need to don more professional attire. This is why they love our favorite versatile button downs

Cassie wears her Icon Shirt with a skirt and beautiful scarf for a dressed up look for dinner with friends, looks office chic as she styles her shirt with a bold blazer and black shorts, then completely dresses the shirt down for a lobster roll at the famous Luke's lobster. Justin wears his sleek shirt with a blazer and great tie for a meeting before changing into a more dressed down look to meet up with Cassie for lunch.

  • Grant and Katherine's DC Style

Meet Katherine and Grant, fellow entrepreneurs, and DC's newly engaged power couple. We caught up with them in historic Georgetown where they agreed to let us snap some pics of them wearing their favorite Tuckernuck items.  We know that the holidays are a time of giving, and this couple is no stranger to advocating for those less fortunate. Katherine is a Principal of Availor Group, a social impact fund, and a Board member of the Prevent Cancer Foundation while Grant is the founder of the Ocular Melanoma Foundation. The ever elegant couple works tirelessly to help others in need.  That's why we found it appropriate to feature them as one of our Holiday Tuckernuck Style posts, reminding us what this season is truly all about.

Katherine is pictured wearing our favorite holiday dress, the Amber along with Kenneth Jay Lane Sapphire Tear Drop Earrings and the Melisa Bracelet, while Grant sports our new Highlands Tweed Jacket, Port Royal Button Down and Woven Elephant Tie. For a more casual look, Katherine threw on a Madison Marcus Jewel-Neck Striped Sweater paired with our Cobalt Blazer and the Champagne Isabella Tote. Grant is wearing our Barbour Down vest, a Vineyard Vines flannel and some leather croakies
