  • Red, White, and Blue on the Grey Lady

As the fog rolls in almost every morning, it's easy to see why Nantucket has been nicknamed the Grey Lady and is home to more lighthouses (three) than stoplights (zero).  We ventured out to Sankaty Head Lighthouse, the red and white striped beacon on the far east shore of Nantucket to photograph our friends Morgan and Acacia in some of our favorite 4th of July apparel.  Morgan sported our embroidered Smathers & Branson polo with seersucker sunglass straps and crisp, white shorts while Acacia paired a Saint James striped top with a Terry Stack belt and her own white shorts.  Their red, white, and blue look was the perfect salute to Independence Day.  Plus, the couple stood out against Nantucket's misty sky and the lighthouse's patriotic colors.

  • Tuckernucking in Brooklyn

Co-Founder, Jocelyn (also known as Cupid), is known for her match-making prowess.  She worked her magic at her birthday party a few years ago to set up Tara, her childhood friend, with JC, close friend from their days working abroad in Hong Kong.  Sparks flew, and Tara and JC are now one of Tuckernuck's favorite couples.  The two live in Brooklyn, so it made sense that they chose the Brooklyn Bridge as the location for our Tuckernuck Styled photo shoot this week.  We caught the dwindling daylight on a warm spring night, and enjoyed sweeping city views with these two lovebirds while they sported their favorite Tuckernuck items.  JC threw on his Castaway Mariner Jacket with olive khakis, a Hiho linen shirt, and a Smathers & Branson belt.  Tara looked great in our Lauren Moffat Hairpin Shorts with her own denim jacket and form-fitting white tee.

We finally headed home after the sun sank behind the Manhattan skyline, but we're already looking forward to hanging out with this couple again soon.

  • The (Big) Apple Doesn't Fall Far...

Meet Fred Castleberry, the man behind the style blog, Unabashedly Prep.  We met up with Fred and his sons at his home in Park Slope, Brooklyn.  This spring break trip to visit Dad was the boys' first time in the Big Apple, which Fred packed with outings to FAO Schwarz, The Museum of Natural History, and Shake Shack.  We caught this gang of boys during some downtime at home, where they refreshed their classic khakis by cuffing their hems and pairing them with crisp button-downs, Johnnie-O polos, and a Belted Cow belt for an afternoon of reading, a bit of horsing around, and of course, a few pictures.

  • Nick's Athletic Castaway

Nick, financial analyst and co-founder of the financial news blog, Market Snacks, took a break from his New York City-paced life to enjoy the holidays down in Florida.  A savvy packer, Nick was smart to take along his Salt Spray Castaway polo for a week of golf and tennis.  Nick always managed to look the part as he paired his polo with a Smathers & Branson belt and pressed khakis for the golf course and whites for the tennis court.  He added the sporty and cool Knockaround shades to block the strong sun. The signal flag tape trim inside the collar of the shirt refreshes this classic look with an unexpected detail, and the shirt's lightweight pima cotton makes it easy to wear on even the hottest, most active days.
